Finally...

So I decided it was about time I updated my blog, and prove I am in fact doing something, well I hope anyway...

I've been looking at a lot of other artists that are doing similar works and came across a photographer named Henk Van Rensbergen. He travels all around Europe photographing abandoned buildings, the reason I love his work is the eerie effect a lot of them have.

More recently Ive been working on trying to give my own work this same effect either by taking pictures of  my own 3D structures or even just painting or sketching sites around Limerick.. pictures to follow.

If anyone is interested here's a great Irish website where a photographer Tarquin Blake visits some well known abandoned landmarks and some completely unknown, and posts the pictures up online. Well worth a browse... http://www.abandonedireland.com/

My Urban Enviroment

So basically the main source of my project was a building site in Limerick City. I found it unusual that this vast building site had been abandoned with no work continuing and left with at least 6 crane still up. Throughout the city I could see numerous sites of either new builds or restorations which had been left empty and left to decay again. In the end the reason I choose this particular site was that it left the biggest statement of architecture and development attempt in the city. Once I began taking pictures and sketching the site I concentrated on the form and structure of the buildings and cranes working with both 2D and 3D studies. Here are a few pictures of my project as its coming along and ill keep you updated..............sinead
